Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 72 years old. I am a retired soldier. I have never been able to smell anything. I have told several doctors. No one cares. Is it possible to find out why I can t smell and fix it? Will my Medicare and Tricare for Life insurance pay for it?

What Causes Loss Of Smell For A 72-year-old?
Hello, Loss of smell(Anosmia) mostly due to a local cause like cold stuff in nose or polyps. Due to age also can reduce smells. Some neurological conditions like Parkinsonism, Alzheimer s disease and multiple sclerosis. Better consult ENT and Neuro. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr C.ELANCHEZHIAN, General & Family Physician
