What Causes Loss Of Hearing In A BP Patient?

This is for my mom. She s 81, takes a very low dose of high blood pressure medication (she s been on it for 10-12 years). On 10/22, she was feeling pain in her left ear, the morning of 10/23 she had complete hearing loss in her left ear, it was numb, and her left nasal passage bled. She went to the doctor and gave her a 6-pack (250Mg Azithromyacin) and a nasal spray stating she had an ear and sinus infection. Since then she s lost 50% of the hearing in her right ear. I am wondering if she has something more than an ear infection. Mini-stroke perhaps. Just not sure and concerned this might be permanent.
