What Causes Loss Of Appetite In A Stage IV Cancer Patient?

Hello, my mom has stage 3 cancer and has been very active up until a few days ago. she has gotten very weak, less of an appetite, cant get up on her own anymore, need help to walk. is this normal or is there something else going on and is there anything I can do. Im sorry she has stage 4 cancer and is currently on hospice care also.

Stage 4 cancer patients have metastases in their body. This means cancer cells are dividing very fast and enormously. These dividing cells release great amout of cytokines and inflammatory mediators.
These all substance act on brain and cumulatively decrease appetite, decrease oral inake and loss of weight.
This is the time when most of the patients succumb to death.
