What Causes Loss In Memory Post A Bypass Surgery?

Hi sir, My father had open heart surgery for valve replacement and bypass on 19th may 2014. He is 62 yrs old. After surgery he was on ventilator 3 days and in iccu 8 dys. After that he s having memory lose and he could not walk, no bladder and bowel control. Now he can walk with support. But no bladder and bowel control, memory lose also still there. What we want to do? Please answer.

I really appreciate your concern for your father and let me tell you that in any major surgery where the lot of vascular region being resected and dissected some chances of embolism is very likely and this must have happened with your father, but this would come around this may not be permanent condition, hope this information helps you take care and have a nice day.
