What Causes Long Strands In Stool?

I had some cramps and went to bathroom. What came out is long strands of grissley material. I have had diverticulious in past however have not had any problems with that in a long time, probably 8 months. These grissley strands are up to 10-12 inches. I m worried something is seriously wrong or I have worms or something. I have been feeling very tired and lethargic last couple of days.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of cramps, so went to bathroom and long strands of grisly material came out; has diverticulitis without any symptoms for 8 months. Grisly stand was about 10-12 inches. Have been tired and lethargic.
- My thoughts:
You should have sent the material for lab testing as this is the only sure shot way t o get a proper diagnosis.
This is most probably a tape-worm and hence send your stool for tests for 3 consecutive days.
Consult your Doctor and get started on proper anti-worm treatment.
