What Causes Limp And Pain In Femur After Rod Insertion?

Hi Dr. Amit, My mother got a fracture in femur bone in 2008 and she got a rod inserted at that time. But now after almost two years she is having pain in walking. Also, she still has some limpness in her walk. Can you suggest the reason for the same please? I consulted the orthopedician to remove the rod but he says not to do it at this age. She is around 59 years old now.
