What Causes Lightheadedness And Chest Pain Of Favoring Left Side In Supine Position?

I am a 41 year old male. When I raise my left arm (only left arm) up to my chest I feel light-headed. I also feel chest pains and light-headedness when I lie down on my left side or lean back on anything that puts slight pressure on my back. What could be the problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
This is a very rare problem and should be investigated by Contrast enhanced CT scan of the neck and the chest to see for any tumor or mass or Scalene syndrome wherein the muscles get taught to compress over the carotid on the left side giving you light-headedness on the particular positions of left lateral or elevating the left arm only position.
Consult Cardiothoracic Surgeon to get fully investigated and proceed for further management as required .
