Birth control pills are hormone prepearations which are used to prevent
pregnancy.
For the first 3 to 6 months, the monthly periods may become irregular and the number of bleeding days may increase and spotting days may increase, and also may have
frequent spotting or light bleeding.
The reason few women may have bleeding issues is related to the uterine lining and
hormonal response. Such disturbances aggravates when you do not take the pill everyday at the right time.
Also, the risk of chances of pregnancy increases when you are sexually active if the pills are not taken as scheduled. During such time, you need to use other forms of
contraception like condoms and spermicidal agents, until you get your next periods, and continue with the pills regularly.
Kindly consult Gynecologist in case these symptoms continue to bother you and does not stabilize by 6 months as you may require change in the mode of contraception.
