What Causes Light Vaginal Spotting With Abdominal Cramps While On Progynova?
Hello, I am taking 8mg of progynova a day and 2 cyclogest pessaries per day and have had a positive pregnancy test after a frozen embryo transfer on 19th Nov. But yesterday i started sporting slightly, phoned the clinic and they said nothing to worry about. Now I have started bleeding more heavily with stomach cramps (the clinic is closed now), does this mean miscarriage?

I totally understand your concerns about your pregnancy.
The following points should be taken into consideration
1-bleeding in your case is a threatened abortion. We cannot tell so far if that is gonna happen or no. In threatened abortions you will have 50% chance to carry your pregnancy and 50% chance to have an miscarrige.
2- In your case you must be evaluated by an ultrasound in order to detect the fetal heart of the baby, and to do pelvic exam to see if the cervix is open. The following scenarios might apply
A-cervix is open and positive fetal heart = inevitable abortion = an abortion is gonna happen
B- Cervix is closed and negative fetal heart = missed abortion = it is an abortion and you be given the choice between a dilation and curettage or medical treatment to remove the products of conception from your uterus
C- Positive fetal heart and cervix closed = threatened abortion = 50% chance to carry on pregnancy and 50% chance to lose it.
3- you must be aware that excessive bleeding can be life threatening and thus i advise you to go to the ED if you think that you are bleeding a lot.
4-cyclogest and progynova are hormones used to supplement you due to the fact that this pregnancy is product of IVF, they are not the reason for bleeding, and you must continue taking them until you are evaluated like i mentioned before.
