What Causes Light Vaginal Spotting After Taking Postinor 2?

Hello, I had unprotected sex with my bf on 19th of March, which was two days after my period and he released inside me. I took two tablets of postinor 2 at once that same day but at night. I noticed some blood stains which look like spotting five days (24th March) after taking the pills. Now it is 17th April and I have not seen my period and am very worried about it. I did a pregnancy home test and the result was negative but I still don't understand what is causing the delay in my period. This is my first time of taking a contraceptive pills (postinor 2) that was why i took the two tablet at once because i didn't have proper knowledge of how to use it. I have not had sex with my bf since then till now. Please help me out cause I don't know what to do. Could I be pregnant? Thanks.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Postinor 2 is an Emergency Contraceptive Pill and contains Levonorgesterel and is used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex and needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse..

As far as bleeding after 5 days of taking Postinor is concerned, it is Withdrawal Bleeding that occurs due to hormonal imbalance caused by the emergency contraceptive pills..
You need not to worry about it as it can range from mild spotting to bleeding like that occurs during periods..
Delay in periods is commonly seen after taking emergency contraceptives, therefore you need not to worry as you will get your periods, although a bit late..
It is effective to about 95%in preventing pregnancy therefore you need not to worry about it..

In case if you do not get the periods even after another ten to fifteen days consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated..
