What Causes Lethargy, Severe Headache, Joint Pain And High Fever?

i am doing a case study for my biology class and need help finding a diagnosis for a fictional patient. the symptoms are lethargy, severe headache, muscle and joint aches, a temperature of 102.1 degrees F, cervical, axillary, and inguinal lymph nodes are swollen. after a blood work test the hematocrit levels have come back normal and the buffy coat is slightly elevated. ( this is fictional and not for an actual patient) the fictional patient is a 32 year old male. any help is greatly appreciated.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the high grade fever must be cause of underlying systemic inflammatory reaction to possible bacterial or viral infection most likely.

Though hematocrit level is normal, differential count in terms of neutrophils, eosinophils and lymphocytes are very essential here to corelate underlying possibilities in details.

Multiple lymph nodes can be part of immune system response as seen in lymphoma or else.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
