General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Giving away sensation or giving away of the legs can be related to nerves in you back or the ligaments in you knee. You need a clinical examination by a doctor followed by appropriate imaging studies to understand better. I advise you to see your physician at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
