What Causes Leg Twitching And Itchy Skin?

I have occasional instances of twitches primarily in my legs, but can happen anywhere on my skin. These begin with a slight feeling of an itch almost like an insect bite, which then causes a twitch. and a muscle reaction. these can happen any where on the skin. And, no I don t think I have an infestation of lice. It is more like nerve happening . though not continuous, it s more at random. nonetheless annoying! thank you , JB

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symtposm can be related to peripheral neuropathy which is a neurological condition.
Usually it is caused by diabetes, so I suggest to check the glycemic level.
I also suggest to do a nervefuction test.
Meanwhile, you can use antihistamines such as Cetirizine to relieve the symtoms.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
