What Causes Leg Cramp Followed By Fainting While Running In The Gym?

Dear Dr, Samuel, Hope you are doing well. While running yesterday in the gym i got a leg cramp and stopped and while waiting for the cramp to go, I got dizzy and almost fainted. What might be the reason this happened. FYI I never felt the same way, have been going to the gym for couple of months but had a long break of 3 months before this case.

Hi,

It is very difficult to talk about dizziness like one in your case. There could be many reasons including electrolyte imbalance, secondary to cramps, or just BP Problems.

I suggest you get a complete workup done to rule out any major cardiac or neurological issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon
