What Causes Large Lump In Groin Area After Postpartum?

Hi I am 3 weeks postpartum & I have a large lump on groin area? It showed up around 20/24 weeks of pregnancy tender to touch. Looks similar to fermonal hernia but ultrasound did not pick up on this ultrasound said about germ cell. Could it still be a hernia???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having direct inguinal hernia.
This might have precipitated due to pregnancy as at this time increasing of intra abdominal pressure precipitating hernia.
Consult surgeon and get clinically examined.
On clinical examination it is easy to diagnose hernia or other problem like inguinal lymphadenitis.
Ok and take care.
