What Causes Lack Of Energy In A Person?

I am a 40 y/o male. I have a family , and a very demanding job. The last year my energy level has dropped away to almost nothing. I realize i dont eat like i should, and do enjoy my beer. Do i just need to start taking better care of myself, or should i be worried?
