What Causes Kaleidoscopic Vision In The Peripheral Eye?

About two weeks ago, I experienced a vision anomaly in my left eye only; a kaleidoscope effect peripherally to the left side of my left eye. It was morning after being awake and active for approximately four hours. It lasted only approximately 10 - 12 minutes. I ve experienced no previous episodes, nor have I experienced any since. I am 61 years old, moderately myopic and wear progressive lenses. Also, I have been diagnosed with hypertension and T2D for which I have been prescribed Benicar and Invokana.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Single eye visual abnormalities can be attributed to underlying development of optic nerve, artery or vein issue at optic pathway.

Kindly get a fundoscopy examination done with vision evaluation to check for the cause and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
