Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing increasing pain in my hip joint that quickly moves up and down to my knee. This began on Saturday. Today I was free of pain until about 10 a.m., and then quickly escalated in pain. This evening, it increased in pain and my back and knee joint began to swell. I first thought I pulled a hamstring muscle but later suspect gout. Tylenol does not touch the pain. Thoughts?
Here is my advice. Whenever there is radiating component, nerve involvement should be ruled out. A back x-ray would help in this condition. The trial of Motrin or Aleve could help. Also, bursitis can cause this pain too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priya Sadanandan
