What Causes Joint Pain And Dizziness While On Isobest And Deriva For Acne?

Hello doctor. I have a very oily face due to which I get pimples all the time. But if I take Isobest/i deriva/ de acne etc. one or two capsules a week , I experience relief from the condition. But is it ok if I continue with the dosage over a long period of time? Also , recently I experienced joint pains, extreme drowsiness, fatigue and blurred vision.....but that might be due to PMS also. Please advise.

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Isobest contains Isotretinoic acid used for variety of skin conditions including acne which has not responded to conventional therapy. There are significant number of side effects of Isobest when used for a long period of time without medical supervision or guidance as:
- GI upset with nausea, vomiting
- Abdomen heaviness
- Weight gain
- Light headache
- Rashes over different body parts apart from face
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Cholesterol metabolism disturbances
- Muscle cramps and body ache via lactic acid accumulation
It is strictly recommended to follow your doc prescription guidelines in this regard to avoid any inadvertent events.
