What Causes Jerking Movements In The Head And Mouth?
My 2 month old granddaughter has these tic like movements. She tends to turn to the right and mildly jerk her head and mouth. She had her second round of vaccinations yesterday, threw up a bit and then was taken to the ES due to the tic movements. She is going to the Neurologist later today. She has been gaining weight well and is bottle fed.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of jerking movements in the head and mouth which probably occur due to causes like Vitamin B12 and calcium deficiency, potassium deficiency, traumatic injury or inflammation of facial nerve that supplies muscles of face, anxiety and panic attacks, nerve inflammation and infection caused by viruses . I would suggest you to first of all consult neurologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI, CT Scan, Nerve conduction studies, Electromyogram etc to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly. You can be advised to take multivitamins along with calcium and potassium supplements. You can also do breathing exercises along with meditation to keep stress minimal. Doctor may also refer you to dentist if problem will be related with dental problem.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
