What Causes Jerking Movement In The Body While On A Ventilator?
i have a brother who has stage 4 cancer and has been on a ventilator for the last week. Cancer has spread into his lungs. Originally his breathing was calm and although he was unconscious, he seemed to be at peace. But today he is jerking with every breadth - why? and the nurse advised that he is relying totally on the ventilator and is not breathing on his own at all. Is is perhaps time to take him off the ventilator/

Ventilator will help him keep alive. I do not recommend to take the ventilator off.
Instead, I highly recommend to follow his caring doctor's advice.
