What Causes Itchy White Spots On The Face?

I have swelling on my face in several spots that I thought were mosquito bites, but I don t recall being bitten and certainly not so many time. The areas are white and they itch, but they don t appear as red as hives normally do. Do you know what this could be?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Looks like you could have a mild infection called Pytiriasis Versicolor on your face. Start applying KetoB cream twice a day for 10 days followed by plain Keto cream twice a day for another 7 days and then stop. Also make sure you regularly apply sunscreen,(Suncross is a good brand) twice a day, 20 mins before you leave your house and reapply every 3.5-4 hours. Make sure you moisturise your face well as well, as dry skin can lead to these issues. Excella is a good face moisturiser. Use a mild hypoallergic moisturising soap for bathing called Moisturex Syndet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
