What Causes Itchy, Scabby Area On The Head With Oozing Plasma?

Hi, I dyed my hair with the same dye I ve used before. No problem then, but now I have an itchy, scabby area on my head. I m thinking it might be from the dye and a body wash mix because it s also on my forehead and shoulders. It s been like this for four days. The area on my head has been oozing plasma. I ve switched to head and shoulders shampoo and started using a new body wash incase I was allergic to my previous ones. My forehead is slowly getting better, but my head still oozes plasma. What can I do to quicken the healing process?

Hi,

The products used to change your hair color are aggressive chemicals. Two procedures on two consecutive days is too often. Stop using this stuff, treat the hurt skin with OTC 1%-hydrocortisone cream (not ointment) and see a doctor if it gets worse (then asap) or if it doesn’t disappear after a maximum of 7 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Marius Lazar, Dermatologist
