What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Face, Neck And Vaginal Area?

My mother has been experiencing pimple like breakout on her scalp and severe itching. She also suffers from severe vaginal itch and has treated it with a vinegar bath. Most of the symptoms have subsided but last night she had a flare up and now there is a redness around the face and neck area. Severe itching with no relief from the normal vinegar bath. I used webmd and it says it could be Seborrheic Dermatitis. Can you help?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history your mother is having symptoms suggestive of seborrheic dermatitis except the lesions on vaginal part which may be due to some other cause like fungal infection.

My treatment advice is -
1. Never squeeze the lesions. It will lead to exacerbation
2. Apply a mild antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream on face and neck and a moisturiser like enmoist cream. Both twice daily.
3. Use an antifungal shampoo like ketoconazole shampoo on alternate days.
4. For vaginal lesions apply a combination of steroid and antifungal like candid-b cream.

If lesion persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
