What Causes Itchy Rashes On Chest And Inner Elbows?

Hi, 43 year old female. I have had a rash on my neck/chest area for 2-3 months now with no relief. I have stopped using perfume and have been using benedryl to help with the itching, but it persists. I have now noticed that my arms around the inner elbow area are also showing a rash with itching as well. I live in WI, so is this simply dry weather? any reason for concern? It is quite uncomfortable, and a little embarrassing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi have you recently changed anything in your routine like some medication or skin care ? If you can't really find a cause then as you pointed out it could be the dry weather. Try mild exfoliation and using an intensely moisturising lotion. It should relieve the itching quickly while the rash may take a time to disappear. Even after doing this if you find no relief you should consult a doctor who will be able to examine you to see if it is a fungal infection and prescribe an antifungal medication. I hope this helps. Take care :)
