What Causes Itchy Bruise On Wrist Along With A Lump?

I fell against a fence post a couple of weeks ago and hurt my wrist on the ulna a couple of inches from the wrist towards the elbow. After a couple of days a big bruise came out and went green then disappeared. I ve now got a lump under the skin in the same place, it hurts when pressed, it s itchy, and a little warm to the touch. Is there anything I should put on it?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

The lump that has formed is probably a blood clot which has formed from the trauma. Are you able to lift weights and use your arms for your daily activities. If not I suggest you show to an Orthopaedic surgeon.

There is nothing that you need to apply right now but if you have pain you can apply pain killers gels over the injured area.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
