What Causes Itchy And Sore Underarms?

My underarms have been really sore, and itchy, for months now. I thought it was my deodorant. I used dove, it was peeling and stuff then, I finally changed to a natural deodorant, it s just been sore and itchy. Recently shaved it and cleansed it with alcohol, and it turned white for a couple minutes then went to a grey and finally my skin color (I m African American). What is going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to contact dermatitis. Avoid using deodorant , creams and alcohol. Calamine lotion can be used. Taking antihistamines like cetirizine will be helpful also. Applying aloe vera or aloe vera gel locally also will be helpful. If no improvement then consultation with a dermatologist is well appreciated and corticosteroids will be needed.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
