What Causes Itchy And Red Wound After Taking Antibiotics?
I just started antibiotics for an infection I sustained last week on my inner arm due to a deep hedge cutter.
I had a I gram of iv rocephin today and am on Keflex qid for 7 days.
My arm has red streeks running up to my arm pit and is sore and swollen at inner aspect of elbow.
Wound is ichy and red . there is no drainage, How long will it take for the antibiotics take to work.

It can take 36 to 72 hours for an effect to be seen and improvement will continue after that point.
Even if it appears to be completely healed before the course of antibiotics is completed, it would still be best to complete the course.
