What Causes Itching Through Out The Body Continuously?

Every day my skin itches all over, including my head. It gets worst at night. I am thinking that it may be from the soap that I have been using. What else can it be? Night before last I could not go to sleep for about three hours beause of the itching.

As per your complain it seems that itching sensation throughout the body along with itching over the scalp and worsening of the itching at night can be due to causes like Allergic reaction caused due to any food or medicine..It can also be due to Contact Dermatitis caused due to any skin cosmetic, detergent, soap, perfumes, poison ivy etc..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now you can take anti-allergics like Levocetrizine or benadryl..
Apply calamine lotion..
Do cool compresses..
Once the cause is diagnosed avoiding exposure to the same can help..

You can also be Instilled an Immunotherapy for reducing severity and frequency of allergic reaction..
