What Causes Itching On Hands And Legs When Diagnosed With Dengue Fever?
My husband has got dengue fever and his platelet count is 70000. Yesterday s evening report also showed the same platelet count. Now he has severe itching on hands and legs. Please suggest if it is post dengue symptoms or anything else. Should he use any ointment for itching?

Itching is a very common in dengue fever, usually occurring along with a rash. If troubling, I used to give antihistamines like levocetirizine 5mg at night, for relief. Kindly discuss with your doctor. Applying calamine lotion also offers some help.
