What Causes Itching In Throat?

Yes, I went to Dr today with a sorta sore throat. the problem is they there is not redness that they can see, but it feels like when I swallow it is hard and very tender in the lower part of my throat, right at the adams apple or just a little below. worries my as they told me to wait until Monday that I could of bruised my throat but when I turn my head I can feel something there. Not a large knot, but the Dr said that she could feel a few lymph nodes but not swollen. Very confused she told me to take Aleve moring and night and if not better come back Monday, I have had this for almost a week.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching in throat. The probable reasons for symptoms you mention in query is due to infection by bacteria leading to throat and it could be due to acid reflux. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid heavy and spicy food specially at night , ear at least one hour before going to bed , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meal and take antacid like gelusil . Consult ENT specialist once for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test and blood tests to find exact diagnosis . Do warm saline gargles on daily basis.Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers and proton pump inhibitor along with proper course of antibiotics.
