What Causes Itching In The Ears And Pressure In The Chest?

For the past 12 hours or so I have been experiencing itchy inner ears, tightness in throat. I am starting to feel tightness in upper chest and some post nasal drip. I had this same thing twice last year and was given Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray. Anything else I could take to relieve symptons?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms are likely to be due to ENT involvement following sinusitis (viral, allergy or infection). The sinus inflammation can cause throat infection, post nasal drip and eustachian tube dysfunction. Regular vapor inhalation along with nasal spray, hot saline gargles, course of antibiotic (as per need), anti allergic drug, histamine cell blockers in chronic cases, avoiding known allergens would relieve you. The doses and strengths of medicines will be decided after physical examination and needful investigations. Please consult an ENT specialist.

Thank you.
