What Causes Itching In The Abdomen During Pregnancy?
hello doctor, I am 6 months pregnant and lately I m experiencing itch and irritation in my abdomen. As prescribed by my OB, I should use Betnovate Cream Plain but I m not confident on using it after reading that it may cause abnormality on the baby. Is it really safe to apply? Hope you can advise me doc. Thank you so much for your time.

I understand your concern. Steroid creams such as Betnovate Cream plain, in low doses are considered safe during pregnancy. Doses exceeding 300 grams of steroid creams have been show to cause low birth weight and other problems. However, if used as prescribed by your doctor there will be no unwanted effects for you or your baby.
