Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I really appreciate your concern for the itching around anus and vagina.
I can understand your problem, it is not a serious concern so nothing to worry.
The features described in your query are highly suggestive of a
parasitic infection caused by pin worm which is a small, thin, white roundworm called
Enterobius vermicularis that sometimes lives in the colon and
rectum of humans. Itching is caused by the eggs which are deposited in and around anus and vagina.
Worms can sometimes be seen on the skin near the anus or on undergarments, pajamas, or sheets about 2 to 3 hours after falling asleep.
Treatment involves two doses of
Mebendazole or
Albendazole with the second dose being given 2 weeks after the first dose.
All household contacts and caretakers of the infected person should be treated at the same time.
Reinfection can occur easily so good hand hygiene is essential (e.g. proper handwashing, maintaining clean short fingernails, avoiding nail biting, avoiding scratching the perianal area).
Hope to have answered your query.
Best regards.
