What Causes Itching And Loss Of Hearing In Ears?

My dr told me I had a hop in my ear as I went in due to a sinus infection. I told him I could not hear out of my ears. He gave me the z pack to get rid of the infection. It has been over a week and I still can not hear out of my ears. Previous to my dr apt as I had to wait I had been using some ear drops my husband was prescribed previously for an early infection. I had stopped us in them a day before my apt but now my ears constantly itch and I still can not hear out of them and I feel like there is fluid stuck in my ears. Please help what do I do?

Hello my friend
Thanks for your question on HCM

I suggest to go again to the specialist.
Your doctor will do a physical exam and ask about your symptoms and past health. He or she also may look in your ears with a lighted device called an otoscope.

If your doctor thinks that you have hearing loss, he or she will do hearing tests to check whether you have hearing loss and find out how severe it is. You may be referred to an audiologist to do the tests. These tests may include:
1. A tuning fork test, which helps your doctor know which kind of hearing loss you have.
2.Other tests to find out what kind of hearing loss you have or which part of your ear is affected

He will indicate what to do
But i advice you to:
1.Avoid loud noise, such as noise from machines at your work, power tools, very loud music, and very loud motorcycles.
2.Turn down the volume on anything that you listen to through ear buds or headphones, such as MP3 players.
3.Wear hearing protection, such as earplugs or earmuffs.
4.Avoid putting objects in your ear

Hope this informatin is helpful
Best regards
