What Causes Itching And Acne On Stopping Bernovate N Cream?

hello doctor, my name is Seema. My age is 27. i am using betnovate-N since 16 years. At first it was a gud experience with the cream . I did not relize tat my skin is getting thin . Now i feel bad Due to using this cream, my face skin got thin. When i am not using this cream pemples itching and red spot are coming to my face. For this i have again started using this cream. Can u tell me doctor what to do ? If i stop ,my face is getting distroy , please doctor reply me as early as possible

After analyzing your query I can make out that you have used this cream for 16 years which is quite long period of time. Your condition is known as "Steroid Abuse" or "Steroid dependence".

It is quite common phenomenon where after long term, injudicious and unregistered use of steroid creams without medical advice lead to the multiple side effects.

I suggest you to have patience and do not worry. It is really good that you have stopped with the cream application so there would not be any further damage.

In your kind of cases I generally prescribe creams such as kojic acid or arbutin or tacrolimus to take care of side effects as well the pigmentation and eruptions. This is to be applied at night time. You can meet a dermatologist to get further guidance regarding the treatment of the same.
