Hi. Can understand your concern... As per your complain there can be a few reasons for the itching and bumps over the lips.. If you think it is due to Chapstick, then it can be due to bacterial infection cause by infected chapstick when it is shared with an already infected person... If it is the case antibiotics can cure your problem.. At times due to excessive sun exposure there can be inflammation of minor salivary glands present on the lips leading to formation of small bumps on lips.. Use of lip balms with sun protection formula (SPF) can be used whenever you go outdoors.. It can also be due to some known or unknown allergies to products used on lips like lip balms,lip colours, creams etc.. It you are aware of having some allergy avoiding that product followed by topical steroids can help.. Last but not the least Viral infection can not be eliminated to be evaluated for.. Herpes infection causing cold sores over lips can be one reason for it.. Using topical ad oral antiviral agents like Acyclovir can lower the incidence of such lesions..
