What Causes Itching All Around The Eyes?

Last year I had this same itching all over and around my eyes thing and my eye doctor prescribed some antibiotics and it worked. This year it also seems to be coming on with some feelings of bronchitis and weird sort of lungs spasms that make me cough yet, not really productive. Any clues are appreciated. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Eye symptoms while a patient has signs of another respiratory infection very likely are due to a virus causing all the symptoms. Most of the times it is self-limiting but if eye symptoms last for longer than 3-4 days a local antibiotic can be used in drops or ointment.

You can also clean the secretions with clean gauzes with warm water and keep a good hand hygiene as this can be contagious, use your own towels, do not share them with others.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
