What Causes Itchiness In The Ear?

my ears itch all the time. I had some sort of infection in it once that the doctor said looked like poison ivy, but wasnt. It made me lose most of my hearing temporarily. it felt like it started in my throat and worked its way out my ears. she put this white powder in my ears and it cleared up. this was 6 years ago. it worked for about a year and since than, my ears are always itchy, raw, oily and draining and crusty. im at a different doctor and they tell me they dont see a problem. I dont have a fungus. I dont know what to do.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This coukd be seborric dermatitis.
I recommend the following.

1) Acidification with a topical solution of 2 percent acetic acid combined with hydrocortisone for inflammation is effective treatment.
2) A course of antie for secondary infection.
3) Keep the canal dry and moisture free.

You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.

Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.
