What Causes Itchiness In The Bellybutton After Gallbladder Removal?

I had my gallbladder removed 4 weeks ago. Now my belly button, it s self smells horrible. Even after repeatedly cleaning it out. It has a red ring. The area about a inch out from my belly button itches terribly. It wakes me up it itches so bad. I have put coconut oil on it, and this will relieve it for a shot time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your experience with a red ring itching around your bellybutton following a previous gallbladder surgery i am suggesting that you have developed a allergic dermatitis

In view of this please see a dermatologist specialist for expert clinical assessment lab investigations and adequate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
