What Causes Irritation In Vagina Along With Itching Sensation?

Hi, before my period about two weeks ago my vagina became very irritated and I was scratching a lot. Then my period came last Tuesday. My vagina was still itching during that time. It ended on Saturday, and Sunday it was still itching but I also noticed that there was white liquid discharge coming out. It did not have a smell and the irritation seemed to get worse. I never experienced the irritation and discharge before although I did experience itching and pain when urinating when I was younger a few times which I m pretty sure was due to me not changing right after water fights. So this Monday I bought Monistat 1 and put the egg shape thing in at night. I experienced a burning sensation, but not when I m urinating. My pee was just hot. I also experienced white chinky discharge. It went away yesterday, but I m still experiencing now a bit of gray liquid discharge and irritation is still bothering me. It also hurts sometimes when I wipe. My labia minora has tiny bumps appearing like a rash. What is going on with me and what should I do?

Hi.

This is clearly indicative of vaginal infection. The white discharge is Leucorrhoea that is caused both by infection and anaemia.

Local treatment of vagina with vaginal wash will give you instant relief. But if persists you may have to get antifungal or antibiotic as per doctors advise. Monistat has responded. That also indicates infection.

To my own patients in India, I would advise vaginal wash with Shubhra bhasm ( which is nothing but powdered anhydrous alum) mixed in water. If not available, people can use turmeric powder also in ace of Shubhra. Still boric powder is another alternative. (We do not use antibiotics or antifungal if treatment is done naturally by these methods).

For white discharge, tablet Leukol ( herbal) is best choice which cures white discharge if used constantly for about 8 weeks to 12 weeks. There are many other herbals but this is simple to use. It cures anaemia, infection and back pain too, if any. No side effects. Economic.
