What Causes Irritation In The Tip Of The Penis?

Dear or Madam, Approximately nine months ago I had an encounter with a woman. It consisted of approximately 20 seconds of unprotected oral sex followed by vaginal intercourse while wearing a condom. Approximately 1-2 days later I developed pretty severe sensitivity/irritation at the tip of my penis. I also had a very low grade fever, and I couldn t sleep very well for a number of nights because of the stress of the event. I underwent STD testing about three days after the encounter (which I know is too soon), and everything came back negative (with the exception of a positive HSV1 result). I had repeated STD testing 17 days after the encounter and, again, everything came back negative with the above noted exception. Because I was still having symptoms, my doctor prescribed me 1 G of azithromycin and referred me to a urologist. At the urology appointment, approximately five days after I took azithromycin, the urologist thought I had an infected prostate and prescribed me one week of flagyl and six weeks of azithromycin in order to address the symptoms. At the conclusion of this treatment I was still having symptoms, so I underwent both a CT of my prostate and a cystoscopy, both of which yielded normal results. The only thing that the doctors have been able to find is that I have a lot of sugar in my urine because, apparently, I am now in the prediabetic range. While I am addressing this finding, I am also still concerned that I may still have some sort of STD that wasn t caught. (I should mention that I was recently tested for HIV, which also came back negative.) My question is, even after all of the testing and antibiotic treatment, could I still possibly have gonorrhea, chlamydia, a yeast infection, or some other sort of STD? The only symptoms I seem to have anymore are occasional urethral itching and slight irritation at the tip of my penis. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

After this much of repeatedly testing negative for all the STDs, and receiving the treatment , the question of any STD is extremely unlikely. You should no more concern about any STD now. Just relax, take more fluids, and enjoy a healthy life.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
