What Causes Irritation In The Middle Of The Chest?

I have a persistent itch in my chest. I try to cough to scratch it with little to no relief. Its just there and won t leave I ve been sucking on cough drops and drinking cough syrup but it still itches. Its right below my throat smack in the middle of my chest between my boobs. Please help its driven me nuts.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have irritation in the middle of the chest. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infections , inflammation , tumors , trauma , boils , benign and malignant tumors miliaria or heat rash . The irritation can also occur due to acid reflux .I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order biopsy , check tenderness and consistency and order x-ray to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may put you on antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or may drain the lump . Doctor may also recommend surgical removal or radiaotherapy . Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux or cardiologist for heart problem . For now eat light and non spicy .
