What Causes Irritation, Impatience And Restlessness While On Cymbalta-30mg?

My husband has been treated with other antidepressants and now has been taking 30 mg. of Cymbalta daily for about 3 weeks. He has been extremely irritable and very impatient and restless. Is this a side effect or because it has not built up enough to be therapeutic?

Hi,

Cymbalta which contains duloxetine does causes agitation and restlessness in 3% of the patients, which can be avoided by giving benzodiazepines like alprazolam in small doses in small doses at night.

However, any medicine should be used only with prior consultation of your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
