What Causes Irregular Periods?

I seem to be having what I guess is a 2nd period, I came on feb the 10th my normal time and stayed on for my normal 5 days and yesterday I started bleeding like a period again just not as heavy as normal but bleeding all the same. I dont understand why, I am 42yrs old though.

Hi,
You have not mentioned about frequency of period, but from your concern my interpretation is you have more frequent periods.

As your age is 42 there is possibility of perimenopausal symptoms.

Though labeling it as perimenopausal other causes need to be ruled out by doing ultrasonography for reproductive system (uterus, overies), PAP smear and other routine blood tests
