General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms could be denoting the onset of menopause. Menopause refers to the normal cessation of menstrual cycle in women. Perimenopause (around the menopause time) irregular bleeding, bleeding with clots or bleeding for many days can occur. Hot flashes, mood changes can also be accompanied. These symptoms will reduce in the subsequent months. It is also essential to rule other causes of bleeding by taking a pap smear and a pelvic ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
