What Causes Irregular Menstruation Post Intake Of Postinor 2?

I took postinor 2 in late January, then I started bleeding after five days. Since then, I have not been in mg periods. Its been three months now yet I am not pregnant and I get the signs that I am about to get into my periods but then they don t show up. What could the problem be? What can I do to get my cycle back on track?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Delayed or irregular menstrual bleeding could be due emotional stress, hormonal disorders like thyroid disease, high prolactin levels, change of job or certain diseases of the ovary like polycystic ovaries. I advise you to consult a gynecologist to rule out the underlying cause if any and its treatment accordingly. Bleeding can be induced by taking Norethisterone tablet to be prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
