I have had an IUD (copper) with zero to very few spotting problems for three years, except the last three months. Now I am bleeding between periods and having heavy periods. My GP has prescribed hormonal birth control pills and a follow up appt in 3 months, but the pills have only exacerbated the bleeding. I have bled 18 of the last 22 days since I ve begun my diary and these pills. Should I go back to the dr sooner than the prescribed 3 months? I ve also been alerted through a health screening at work that I have low calcium levels in my blood (I take a women s multi-vitamin daily). Should I be fearing cancer?
