What Causes Irregular Heartbeat When Diagnosed With Asthma?

Hello. Most nights in the past month, I feel a flutter in my throat near my collar bone. Then it feels like my heart beats irregularly. At first I felt like it was part of a cough I was getting. Now I still get it without a cough, but it s always near bedtime, sitting or lying down, watching tv, no stress or activity. I was diagnosed with asthma 2 months ago and use Qvar in the mornings (except when I occasionally forget). I m a 41 year old female. What could it be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to asthma. We have to rule out possible cardiac arrhythmia. Consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. Detailed evaluation is required including serial ECG to make a diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
