What Causes Intermittent Stabbing Pain In My Left Foot?

I'm experiencing extreme intermittent stabbing pain on the top part of my left foot in the middle area. I awoke to this pain last night and it lasted for about a minute. It hasn't occurred again but there is a weird sensation like it could happen again at any second. It's like I can feel the pain ready yo occur again but it hasn't. I've experienced this before on the same foot and location about 4-5 months ago. The it occurred about 6 times times and lasted about a week, and it occurred randomly. I do not have an injury nor did I injure it in the past. But I did notice a while back right before the first onset of the pain a little round, chick pea sized cyst appeared under the arch of that same foot. Any idea what is causing this pain? It's pretty unbearable and I feel I have a good tolerance for pain; I've gotten tooth fillings, stitches in my hand without any Novocain, pain reliever or shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.

As per your history there is possibility of mortons neuralgia.

If you see any signs of infection like raised local temperature, pus collection, increase in pain then you should consult your doctor.

You may need neurotropic medication with analgesic .
I f not relieved local injection shot may help.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Hi,
You have a pea sized sweling in rt foot which pains occasionally during night . These kind of lesion occurs in many conditions like Gout , rheumatism arthritis, tumors, exotosis ...... etc. which need to be diagnosed first through clinical examination , investigation including blood n radiological investigation and then managed according to the diagnosis .
So in my opinion visit a orthopaedic clinic and get treated there Until then have warm compression , analgesic, limb immobilization.
